Sawadeeka! (Hello!)

I can’t believe that Alyssa and I have already been in Thailand for two weeks! When we arrived, we hit the ground running, eager to learn, serve, grow, and eat some delicious Thai food. All we needed was a little Thai coffee/tea, and jet lag didn't stand a chance with us! The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of Thai language lessons, visiting youth homes and churches, lesson planning and teaching English, and helping with a weekend respite for a youth home.  We are teaching English at two homes, and have loved getting to know the kids we are teaching. Through the hospitality of Allison and Hannah, our hosts, we are getting the feel for life in Thailand and exploring Chiang Mai. From PYF staff and our Thai teachers, we are learning as much about Thai culture and Buddhism as we can.

Thai food is so tasty!

Through it all, we are bonding as a team. We are amazed every day by God’s perfect faithfulness and His provision as well. Even though Alyssa and I have already been exposed to some hard realities and are wrestling with some tough questions, I know that I have a great team here to support us. My heart is filled with joy to be back in Thailand, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Summer holds. Please pray that we can continue to build relationships with the staff at PYF, the youth homes we are teaching at, and that we continue to trust God daily!
