Zach and Haley, along with their children Laynie, Millie, Elsie and Maggie, are serving in Podejuve, Kosova. They came along side the local church to help reach the youth in this predominantly muslim area.
In 2016, Zach was working as a social worker in a school setting and Haley was working as a nurse manager, when they went on a short term mission trip to Kosova through their home church. During this trip the Lord used the voice of a little girl and a simple question she asked to show them the need of this unreached people group: "who is this Jesus?". They left their jobs and worked at a high school in the city for that year. During that time, they also used soccer as an outreach. After returning to America for the birth of their first child in 2017, they returned again to live in Kosova in 2021. Their focus has been language learning, cultural acquisition and community outreach.
Zach and Haley have come along side the local church to begin and implement the church's childrens' ministry. To reach out to the youth in the community, they are working with locals to run a weekly kids' club through the church. Zach and Haley are also working with teammates to hold a weekly art club/hangout with neighborhood kids at the park and or at their teammates' home. In this area, there are a lot of false ideas or even no idea of what a Christian is and who Jesus is. These are both opportunities for the children get to learn about and experience Jesus in action. The goal is to grow deep relationships with these kids in order to make disciples who make disciples.
Zach and Haley have seen the value of using their home as a ministry as well. They use their table to gather, feed and nourish, and build and grow relationships with locals. The vision is for their home and table to be a place where all are welcomed, all can find rest, and all can taste and see that He is good.
