Santei and Amanda both felt individually called to serve in Italy before they met.
Santei comes from an Italian household and grew up in Italy for the first 8 years of his life prior to moving to the USA. The Lord saved him in college and called him back to Italy to minister to his people.
Amanda is of Italian descent and always felt drawn to the Italian culture and people. In college she studied abroad in Italy and was broken hearted over the spiritual condition of the Italian people and their lack of relationship with Jesus Christ. She felt called to return to Italy after college and bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Santei and Amanda met in Salerno, Italy in 2017 during a 2 year internship with Nuova Vita church. They fell in love and got married in 2019. Shortly after their marriage, Amanda got diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, forcing them to take an extended medical leave in the USA.
They plan to return to Italy, but this time to Bologna, a metropolitan city in the north, to continue to serve and reach the Italian people. They desire to be a faithful Gospel presence by serving alongside a local church & recovery ministry.
