Mary lives and serves in Yangon, Myanmar. She started having a heart to develop young boys in particular because almost all the NGO programs that were available were catered towards girls and/or women for job placements and micro-loans and empowerment programs. If the boys and men were also invested in and supported mentally, physically, and spiritually then there wouldn't be a whole lot of need to help women find income and get into programs to support themselves. Men are expected to become leaders, if not in society, then in their households. There are many young boys and men who do not have the support they need in order to thrive with dignity and be contributors to their society.
If a child has a good foundation until they are 6 years old, even if they backslide when they grow older, they almost always bounce back to the right track. Because of this statistic, Mary seeks to invest in young boys from as early as 3 years old. This will be to provide the life skills, education and the support system they need in order for them to grow and realize the potential God has given them so that they can serve as upright servants of Christ in society or in their households.
