Lena Pira

Lena Pira graduated from California State University Los Angeles with degrees in early childhood education and curriculum development before moving to Uganda in July 2009 as a full time missionary with New International. With a focus on development, Lena has the opportunity to work on a variety of Christian and Bible Based projects such as development of large scale curriculum programs, vision casting, christian education, book and print development projects, and much more.

Her passion is to help Ugandan churches, organizations and individuals step out and achieve the ministry dreams that God has called them to. Over the years, Lena has partnered with several ministries within Uganda to make this possible, including but not limited to: Africa Renewal Ministries, Africa Renewal University, EDEN Mission, Loving Hearts Babies Home, Mavuno Church Kampala, Beauty Springs, Christ's Heart Ministries International, The Equipped Wife,  Shekinah Babies Home, and Phaneroo Ministries International.

  • An associate level university curriculum program in child development with an emphasis in ministering to children at risk. The curriculum was launched in 2010 and was later turned into a Bachelor's Degree program in 2014 through Africa Renewal University.
  • The development and launch of the Transformational Leadership Training (TLT) Program which raises  student leaders through Uganda.
  • The development and launch of Mavuno Church Kampala's website as an online media outreach tool
  • The development and launch of EDEN Mission (Family Empowerment and church planting movement) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in 2015.
  • The writing and development of several Christian books that are being distributed both locally and internationally, including: ""Equip" - A Small Group Leadership Guide for Cell Based Church Programs, Beneath the Surface Devotional" by Bishop Isaiah & Deborah Mbuga of Christ's Heart Ministries, "5 Things Every Young Person Should Know" by Henry Muguluma and "Limitless" by Pastor Apollo Kaggwa of Christ's Way Church.

Lena is passionate about what God is doing in Uganda and she loves watching God work in unexpected ways in and through her. Her desire in all she does is to bring glory to Him.

Lena has been serving with New International since 2008.
