Since 2015
Brian and Elizabeth met in Chicago at Moody Bible Institute, which led them to explore missions and resulted in their serving in Macedonia. They were introduced to New International through David and Brenda Aderholdt, who are affiliates in Macedonia. They resonate with the vision of New International to join with God to restore his dominion on Earth and to foster Jesus following communities.
Brian and Elizabeth are retooling and waiting on God in Wichita, Kansas. In July of 2016 they returned on Home Service to America. Brian started a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation at Alliance Seminary in Nyack, NY. He is currently working on his dissertation, the last step! After much waiting on God and seeking council they are preparing to help start an International Church in Wichita, KS. This dream will begin in February and be evaluated over the following months to see what God has in store.
Brian and Elizabeth worked with professionals in Skopje, Macedonia. Through partnering with the International Church of Skopje and volunteering in local businesses, they were able to come alongside individuals in Macedonia and introduce them to an authentic relationship with Christ.
The Richards were also involved in starting two churches through leading Bible Studies, women's outreaches and children's programs. Elizabeth worked at an International School, teaching children with dyslexia, giving her opportunities to work closely with other teachers and to develop relationships with many families. Brian helped develop a Corporate Social Responsibility program that challenged business to focus on people and the environment, rather than simply profit. This enabled him to develop relationships with people in the business community and share Christ with them. Together, they served in the International Church of Skopje on the worship team, and Brian on the preaching team.
Brian and Elizabeth have four children: Micah (1996), Josiah (1998), Anastacia (2001) and Zechariah (2004).
