We were reminded this camping season that the ministry of Mision Sports Camps (MSC) exists to support the local churches and parents in the raising of the next generation of Mexican youth to glorify God and live for Him. To God is all the glory for this year's camp season! This summer Mision Sports Camps served 250 campers, compared to 55 last year.

MSC ministered to campers from believing families and many unchurched friends they brought with them. Campers were divided into small groups, with five campers per staff member, where they could confide in their counselor, they became known through relationship, prayed for individually, and learned how to study the Bible inductively (verse by verse). This summer, campers studied various biblical passages of how the prophet Elijah was a light to the dark world surrounding him through his obedience.

Maria* was one of this year's campers. Maria, 14 years old, came to camp against the advice of her psychologist. Her battle with anorexia nervosa had escalated and she had recently begun treatment. However, her parents trusted God and the staff at MSC to allow the Lord to work in her life through camp. Following strict parameters, having tough love, support from her counselors, feeding her daily with God's word, and giving positive encouragement, Maria opened her heart to the Lord. She left camp impacted by the Holy Spirit and her parents testify that God is doing a good work in her life! Pray for Maria in her recovery as she grows in her walk with Jesus, allowing Him to provide hope that she needs!
