An update on the outreach happening to those impacted by the August floods in Myanmar.
As we have reported in August and September, massive flooding hit the country of Myanmar hard. Our workers were on the ground to immediately provide relief and are now working to help individuals that have been impacted move forward. We recently received this update from one of our workers based in Yangon: We praise God for the winter supplies that have been provided and the impact that will have on the lives those who received them. Please pray for all those reached and for those who are ministering to them - that their needs would be met and their hearts would be open to One who truly supplies hope for their deepest need in Christ.
"It will be winter soon in the northern part of Myanmar. The mudslides that occured due to rain happened in one of the most unreachable places. Up in Hakha in the mountains almost 40% of the 40,000 people were displaced. In August and September flood relief in the form of rice, beans, meat, oil, tarps, and medicine were set to support over 500 people in the Chin State capital. Now that winter is coming our attention has turned toward helping the people that will be exposed to the cold. We were able to provide around $3,700 that bought 300 good winter jackets, 200 blankets, and 500 pairs of socks. These supplies made their way up to Hakha from Yangon this past Sunday. Please continue praying for the people in Chin State and around Myanmar as they continue to recover from this devastating disaster."
We praise God for the winter supplies that have been provided and the impact that will have on the lives those who received them. Please pray for all those reached and for those who are ministering to them - that their needs would be met and their hearts would be open to One who truly supplies hope for their deepest need in Christ.
