Job Description:

The Project Manager will help maintain the quality of work done through the building processes of new construction.  They will maintain that all details are completed in a timely manner according to Ukrainian cultural and legal norms. The continuation of building group homes and the needed facilities that those living in the homes will be an ongoing aspect of the work of PROMISE in Darivka, Ukraine.

The Project Manager will initially oversee the building of the next group home for young women, Naomi's Home. The building of this women's home from start to finish will be a great undertaking as it will be more than the main home, but 4-6 additional structures that will need to be redesigned or newly built to provide workshops and additional homes for those in our care. 

The Project Manager is a vital part of the team and filling this role will bless those who have stepped in to temporarily fill this position. One aspect of this position will include overseeing young men from Stephen's Home who desire to learn aspects of the construction business. Patience and time set aside on a scheduled basis will encourage each of them as they learn new skills in a safe environment.

Requirements:

  • The applicant must be an experienced manager with a strong faith in Christ who will use this platform as a way to reach out to those who work under their supervision. Those workers may be under their direct supervision or the management of a hired company, but dignity and honor in all circumstances are a must. Flexibility is also required, as an understanding of and willingness to perceive new ways of accomplishing good quality work through the building process is a necessity. 
  • Four years experience or more in managing a construction site, either commercial or domestic, and using concrete as a major portion of the building materials. They need to have an understanding of standards and quality with materials like concrete and building stone. Many corners are cut in Ukraine to "save" but then buildings are not approved and construction is halted. Experience or an understanding of how to include alternative sources of energy (like geothermal heating) into the home is one aspect we'd like to seriously consider in order to provide self sustainability for the next homes as resources are limited in the village of Darivka.
