Jimmy Akers

Jimmy Akers is a speaker and writer who has spent 20+ years helping people and organizations thrive through helpful, humorous, and hope-filled words. He is a Baltimore boy, now living and serving in Southwest Florida with his family and 2 favorite Boston Terrier pups. 

He has served in pastoral and chaplain ministry since 2005 often meeting people at their most critical intersections in life, joined New International in 2017 and started serving globally, and often speaks on mental health and wellness.

For most of his time with NI, he served as a Missions Storyteller with Family Partners of New International, speaking and advocating for vulnerable children and families in Kenya. Now he serves on the Wellness team at New International offering prayer and support to the incredible missionaries NI has that are serving all over the world.

He also currently serves as the worship and care minister at First Christian Church of Fort Myers and Lead Creative and Hope Delivery Guy at DontDoLifeAlone.com where you can find out more about the work he does.

Jimmy and his family don’t just work or serve with a church and missions organization, but aim to follow Jesus and share the hope found in Christ by living on mission every day. You can partner with them and support their ministry work through a recurring gift or a one-time gift below.
