Christopher and Shannon Stellhorn have been married for eighteen years and have six children, from their adopted eldest who lives in the states to their youngest who was born in Scotland!
Christopher is from the Gulf Coast in Texas and Shannon from the St. Louis area of Missouri. Christopher has served for almost two decades in ministry which included preaching, student ministry, children's ministry, men's ministry, formal Bible training and more. Shannon is a licensed home birth midwife, created and led a birth assistance training program, is an internationally licensed lactation consulant and taught at the Texas Midwifery School. Shannon has also led a women's ministry program and prior to marriage served in short-term overseas missions to Cuba and Costa Rica. Chris & Shannon served a year as houseparents at a Christian maternity home and have served in apartment ministry.
For seven years they were in prayer after their first trip to Scotland. They felt the desire to one day serve in the UK and now they serve on the field in NE Scotland.
They currently serve in Scotland serving their local communities in numerous ways. From a men's community support group called, "Meldrum Men" which they started in 2022 that provide place for men to gathering, support one another, and build community. It provides a place for men to build relationships while the Meldrum Men team that has formed is available to meet with men one-on-one to provide support. We launched men's retreats in 2023 that allow men to confront and work through deep hurts in their past while providing on-going support through monthly gatherings. They also spent 2022-2023 helping support a local church plant in Aberdeenshire. Shannon currently provides lactation support to families in need and does outreach supporting mom's who are struggling. Chris also helps support local churches in the area to meet various needs from fill-in preaching to supporting and encouraging leaders.
Their heart is to see every place in Scotland have a healthy, growing, gospel-centered church! Their vision is to see new churches planted in Scotland in local communities that may grow and help meet the needs of their community! On that journey they hope to provide formal Bible training to raise new leaders to make disciples in their communities and also start new churches themselves. They desire to create programs to reach children and teens and see the local church encouraged and revitalized! One of their yearly events in October reaches 300-400 people a year. Today only 1% of Scots attend a Bible believing church, while 97%-98% do not know Christ! For many, a Bible believing church is not available in their community...we hope to change that! Consider supporting the Stellhorns today and be apart of their Clan!
Why is it called, "Clan Stellhorn"?
A clan is a family who stands beside you and behind you. They stand beside you in prayer and behind you supporting and defending as you go out. Will you be a part of our clan today?
