My name is Dayana Mejia. I was born and raised in Houston, TX. My parents and I moved to Arkansas about 3 years ago. I am the youngest out of five, but all of my siblings wanted to stay in Texas. I am now 19 and ready for another change. I have gone to church my entire life, my grandpa was a pastor back in Texas and we attended his church. It always felt more like a family gathering than going to learn about God, but when we moved to Arkansas, my dad became Pastor of the Hispanic community at Rogers’ Christian Church. After moving to Arkansas, I started to grow my spiritual connection with God on a deeper level. I attended church because I actually wanted to learn more about God, not just because I had to.
After graduating high school I wanted to become a forensic scientist, but I realized that I did not want to go to school for 12 years. I started working at the bank and it’s been going very well, but I also realize that I don’t want that for my future either. At this point in life I feel lost. I don’t know what I want to do. That is why I decided to go to Entermission. I was presented this program by Tori and Corban last year at CIY. I thought it was a cool idea, but it faded as I returned to normal life. Recently the thought of attending EnterMission came back to me and I thought it may be a sign to apply. It was definitely a very hard decision because I have to leave school and work and go somewhere where I’ve never been before. I don’t know the future, but I do know that God has a plan for me. He will take control of my life.
