As we have been putting Disciple-Making Movements (DMM) principles into practice here, people are reading the Word of God for the first time in their lives!
My friend, one of the women that we have trained, Mrs. Cookie, was getting ready to study abroad. I felt God was asking me to give her a copy of the Zabur (Psalms) to take with her. I wrapped it up like a present to give it to her. I was planning to see Cookie again before she left the country, but I sensed I needed to give the gift to her this day. When I saw her, I asked if she would like to get a copy of the holy books. She said, “Yes!â€, and so I proceeded to give her the gift. When she opened the package to see this book of Psalms, she was very excited and wants more!
On another day, we were sitting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bamboo, after breaking the fast with them on this Saturday evening. Mr. Rattan, their youngest son, sat next to my wife and as they began talking, he told her quietly, but intently, that he took the copies of the Taurat, Zabur & Injil (Pentateuch, Psalms & Gospels) I had given him, to his local religious leader, “Mr. Link.†When Mr. Rattan asked Mr. Link what he thought of the books, he responded, “We can read these books.†A few weeks later, Mr. Rattan tells us that Mr. Link asked to borrow these books from him for a few days.
Join us in praying for the power of the Holy Spirit to work mightily in Mr. Rattan, Mr. Link and Mrs. Cookie as they read the Word of God for the first time in their lives.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
