Village Muslim turns to Christ

Last month, my wife and I were on a traveling tour in the north of our African country on a Bible study tour. On our return we decided to stay the night in a city hours away from our home. When we arrived at the lodge, we were surprised when one of the watchmen approached my wife about talking with her about some spiritual matters.

I met together with the man and went with him to his home nearby. He called in his wife to join us. The man went in detail about his struggle with the Islamic religion, that he had spent all of his life in the mosque yet did not understand anything in their worship. I was privileged to share with this man and his wife and led them both to Christ that day. This watchman was the village chief.

This was my first witness to a Muslim couple. The Lord brought immediate results. The chief's village is in the area of South Africa where David Livingstone came to stop the slave trade, and yet the area has been chained to Islam since that time. I have talked with this man at length about planting a church in his village. We are planning to show the Jesus film in August and hope that God will move through this film.

Join us in praying for the Lord to release one of our pastors to go and start a church in this village. Pray that this new church would stand strong within this Muslim region.

NMSI has missionaries and nationals, like this couple in Africa, who are impacting Muslims around the world. Pray for our reach to extend well into the Muslim world as we pray for them during their holy month of Ramadan.
