Story of transformation from Central Asia

“What are you ladies doing together? The women are different. Their faces have changed!”

“What are you ladies doing together? The women are different. Their faces have changed!” These curious words were music to Angela and Renee's ears as they ministered to a group of pastors' wives, many of them Muslim-background believers, in Central Asia in October. The pastors were amazed by the transformation of their wives, right before their eyes.

Based out of the Center for Global Outreach (CGO) in Fort Myers, Angela Blycker and Renee' Flory both have a heart for ministering to women worldwide. Angela, author/speaker, wife and mother, has longed to bless the nations since childhood. Renee', having served in Ukraine for five years and fluent in Russian, was thrilled to minister to ladies in the former Soviet Union once again.

Like-hearted with a passion to minister to women, an invitation from Angela's local church, Sanibel Community Church in Sanibel, Florida, was an answer to a dream to serve the Lord together. Months of prayer for these women laid a foundation as they sensed the Lord about to do a powerful work in Central Asia.

For five days, as the husbands were studying the Scriptures upstairs, the wives were learning and creating downstairs. Each morning, the Lord anointed Angela's speaking, giving her the words to strengthen weary hearts. From Eve to Hannah—Eve's beauty in being created as a helpmate, and Hannah's passion for a child and then committing him to the Lord—the ladies' eyes were opened to greater purposes in their roles as wives and mothers and the importance of the spiritual raising of their children. Scales were falling away and hearts were refreshed.

Quietness, reflection and laughter filled the afternoons as Renee' led the ladies in creating their “Life Stories” through paper. The Lord ministered deeply as they reflected on events of their lives, and as they invited Jesus to speak into them, many saw—some for the first time—how the Lord was there even before they knew Him.

“I learned a lot from Angela. I never knew about Eve in the way she taught and what God's purpose was and is for women. I like knowing that I am a strong and mighty helper, a warrior in Christ's strength. I have great freedom in my heart now. And Renee', she was like a doctor that came to us. Through our art project, she showed me all my illnesses and also showed me the healing too with true words that cover all the events of my life. Jesus has always loved me. Yes, I leave with freedom and new joy!”—Luba

Angela sums it up, “The time was transformational. God used the messages, art, conversations, fellowship and prayer to stir hope again, release new vision, understanding of a woman's identity, and practical help… Yes, it was an abundant time. It's all to God's glory. We are honored to be a part of all that He is doing. We all walked away with more of Jesus.”
