They came to serve and share hope for youth. No cultural or language barriers can truly stop the gospel!
Recently, a group of seven young professionals from Chile traveled to the country of Haiti for a third time, to partner and serve alongside Bezalel Movement, a ministry of Nego and Ellen Pierre-Louis. For a week, they focused on evangelism, delivering food to old people, visiting Jacmel Hospital, and conducting Youth Ministry Training for local churches. For the first time, a YouthHOPE team was able to reach the community of Maplat, two and half hours away from Jacmel city. In this place, up on the mountains, they were served and worked alongside the Maplat Harvest Chapel. In one outreach, 61 children accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
At the same time, the health team worked on prevention of disease through preventive health examination and oral education, serving over 210 people from adults and children. Finally, the team raised an offering of $1200 among friends and churches back in Chile for the construction of a shelter in a preschool and primary school in Maplat that serve 300 children. This project will help them to have more space for teaching and learning.
Throughout this mission project God was glorified. At the same, we can confidently say that there is no cultural and language barriers that can stop a group of Chilean and Haitian youth when it comes to the gospel. We can work and serve together in practical ways to share the good news of Jesus.
New International worked with the team at Kingery Design Co. and RIIPL to bring this brand, website, and app to life. It’s the collaborative effort of many people.
We hope you enjoy!
