Every Thursday Dorcus Mutaka saw the AfricaHope vehicle going to Isinon and she became curious about what was happening. She lives in Leshuta community, which neighbors Isinon. After talking with friends, Dorcus learned that AfricaHope was holding Community Health Education (CHE) meetings and she was invited to attend! Dorcus was excited about the opportunity to travel to Isinon and learn alongside other women. Her biggest prayer was to learn new things to take back and share with her own small village.
Dorcus joined the women at the CHE meetings nearly four months ago. She is such a blessing to the group because she has attended many seminars from different organizations and she shares the information she has learned with the Isinon ladies. She teaches them about health issues, such as HIV/AIDS. The women enjoy listening to Dorcus because she is a Christian and not only does she share the knowledge she's gained about health and wellness, but she also encourages them through the word of God.
In her own community, Dorcus started home visits to teach her friends and neighbors all the things she is learning in Isinon through CHE. She shares her testimony and reteaches the lessons through the role-plays she learned at CHE. Dorcus is happy to work very hard so that her community can be transformed.
New International worked with the team at Kingery Design Co. and RIIPL to bring this brand, website, and app to life. It’s the collaborative effort of many people.
We hope you enjoy!
