A Chance Encounter
He woke up angry, but God had a different plan for his day...
Often, the impact of Ends of the Earth Cycling tours happens before the funds get to the field. Quite often, God opens doors all along the road during the 300+ mile tours. Today's story shares just one of these God encounters that happened on the recent Michigan Bike Ride for youth in Haiti.
Every day on our cycling tours, we take a break after 15-20 miles to have our morning devotional time on the side of the road. One morning on our tour, a man named Charlie came out of his house to ask us why we were riding. Paul began to share with him and invited him to join our devotions. He agreed. As Charlie met with us, he declared, “I woke up this morning with some bad thoughts. I was going to look for Joel Osteen on TV to get some 'God-time' and then you guys showed up!"
We were able to give our new friend the Good News of God's love for him, pray, and leave him with a copy of Jimmy Akers' book, Thankful. We were so blessed by this Divine appointment that God set up before time began!
