Assistants Apprenticeship / Group Home with truPROMISE / Ukraine

Overview

General Job Responsibles: 

Assistants will need to be positively motivating others, possibly filling in while other are doing cooking, laundry or even sometimes cleaning toilets. But going the extra distance to help out with taking walks, going to the swim hole or local fishing spot, working in the garden or helping other assistants and those living in the home with everyday activities are necessities in helping those who are a part of Stephen's Home.

Quaitifications: 

Prior experience overseas and experience working with young people with disabilities. Some experience in a group home or camp with the disabled is desirable, but not necessary. Being mature is also essential, as our residents are not children but grown young men and women. Further, assistants must be willing to learn and be flexible.  

Our team has a need for assistants working in the group, family home with some Ukrainian assistants who are still new to the ideas of how the home functions differently than an institution especially in the old socialist way of thinking. Assistance will help demonstrate how to work and serve well together, with flexibility, maintaining a rhythm in place that works well for the family.

Summary

Assistants are needed to work with young, disabled men and other assistants in the group, family home of "Stephen's Home" in southern Ukraine. Plan to be involved a minimum of four days a week.
