The Ukrainian youth struggle as they transition from happy, playful children to teenagers with the depressing weight of hopelessness pushing them down. There are many single parent families which often leaves the child alone without any expression of love, care and basic needs. As a result, many of the youth, some as young as 13, turn to alcohol, smoking and drugs. These youth lack vision, purpose in life and few know about God.
For the last 7 years Solid Rock Mission has been working with children and teenagers in Eastern Ukraine where it is especially closed to the Gospel and to Christianity. We see the need for these young people to be transformed into Christ-followers in their youth before the weight of their country’s crisis crashes over them. In the last two years we were able to share the Gospel through our summer camps in 23 locations around Eastern Ukraine with more than 4,000 children in attendance! God is moving in Ukraine.
We want to do more for our older youth! Right now we have a Youth Discipleship School that provides different trainings throughout the year allowing young people the chance to step into their calling and serve in the mission field. We have dreams of putting on a huge camp where we can bring 800-1000 teenagers from all over the country to experience God together.
